Ashley Bell is currently on hiatus with Bell & Washington. His cases have been reassigned to our staff attorneys for a smooth transition and the continued expertise that Bell & Washington clients expect. We congratulate Ashley for his new position as a special assistant to U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, with a key role in the department’s bureau of public affairs.

As a litigator Ashley has been called upon to guide labor and employment, worker compensation, and personal injury cases. As the family attorney for the stepson of recording artist Usher Raymond who was tragically killed in a boating accident, and other high- profile cases, Ashley is a highly sought-after attorney who receives record breaking results for his clients. Attorney Bell regularly appears as a legal expert commentator on MSNBC, CNN and Fox News. 

A Hall County native, Ashley Bell was elected in 2008 at age 27 to become Hall County’s youngest ever commissioner and one of the youngest in the state of Georgia. Mr. Bell is a graduate of Valdosta State University, and attended law school at the University of Georgia and Louisiana State University. He is also honored to be a 21st Century Leadership Fellow at the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government.

In Gainesville, Mr. Bell has been active with community service organizations including serving as co-chair of 2020 Leaders of America,  Rotary Club of Gainesville, Family Ties, The One Community Organization (TOCO), Hall County Library Board, Gainesville Parks and Recreation Board, Hall County Boys & Girls Club, Vision 2030, The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, the Gainesville Elks Lodge, the Beulah Rucker Memorial Foundation, Founder of Generation Inspiration. He is a 33rd degree Mason, and a notable member of Iota Phi Theta, Fraternity.
